Max

Tonight is not a very good night for mom because she had to put Max to sleep, almost three weeks since she had to put Samantha to sleep.

This is a picture of Samantha (aka Miss Priss and Mad Max Under the Thunderdome (because his fur reminded mom of Mel Gibson's hair in that movie).  They were such tiny little things.

Max looking at the purple ball and not even bothering to play with it.  To me he is saying you have got to be kidding me, get the ball yourself :)

Max laying on my bed (when I lived with mom) king of all he surveys.

I use to love watching Max fit himself in this cat perch.  He was a big cat and it was always interesting to watch him get comfortable and then sleep there for hours.

I love this photo because it looks like Max is looking at Lily and thinking to himself "Idiot".

Mr. Max and his pillows.

Thank you for letting me go down memory lane for mom.  I know the last few weeks have been difficult for her and I hope these tributes help her somewhat.  Here is to Max and Samantha may they be playing together again some place where they aren't in any pain.  Miss and love you both!!!  I think I am going to go ball now so I hope you all have a good night!

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

  1. I'm so so so sorry to hear of another loss in your family. I also lost 2 dogs within a little over a month some years ago and it is horrific. It just rips the heart out and never gets any easier, I've lost count of how many I've sent to the rainbow bridge but I could name them all and each one warms my heart and brings a smile to my face. Take care both of you!

  2. I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom's kitties passing. It is always so very hard. I have had a lot of animals from chickens, to cats, to dogs and horses, and it is never easy - but they do rely on us to help them when it is time.
