The Bead Soup Reveal!!!

The day has finally arrived - the best day ever - Bead Soup Blog Party!!!!  This is our third time participating in this fantastic party, and it just keeps getting better and better!  Thank you Lori for all the hard work you invested in this party - we all appreciate it!

Before we get started mom and I wanted to share the goodies we received from Erin, Treasures Found: Inspiration is Everywhere.

This is the lovely box of goodies Erin sent.

This is the box of goodies unwrapped.  If you want to learn more about the goodies you can head over to our post about it and check it out.

These are the cookies sheets where we lay out all the goodies to work with.  The goodies go through several transformations until the finale, which we will be showing here in a few short lines.

This is an owl pendant that mom sawed out of 20 gauge copper and then I enameled for one of the pieces we created from the goodies Erin sent.

Here is the teaser I shared with you all on Friday.  I guess you are tired of me dragging this out, but it is so much fun keeping you on your seats in anticipation - yes, I know I am evil and mom tells me this on a regular basis.

This is what the teaser photo was - Night Flight.  As I said, mom and I made the owl pendant.  We incorporated the Smoky Quartz Nuggets and the blue petrified beads along with ribbon from Jamn Glass.  We also incorporated some brown seed beads in the mix.  I think the beads accent the pendant so well and I am so happy with the way this necklace turned out.  I don't think we changed much of the layout from the time we started to the time we finished this baby.

Here is a closer look of the beads we used and the ribbon.  I love the color of the Jamn Glass ribbon!  It compliments the beads so well.

A different perspective of the necklace.

This little bracelet is called "A Little Bit of Aztec".  We used the polymer clay bead by Pam Wynn and the rough goldstone nuggets Erin sent in this bracelet.  We accented the goodies with turquoise chips, beads by us and some copper chain.

This piece actually went through several different alterations.  We did have some of the Smoky Quartz in the bracelet, but ended up removing them and putting all the quartz in the "Night Flight" necklace.

A different angle of the bracelet.  I really want to showcase the bead in these pictures.

Our final piece, "Some Kind of Wonderful", is made with one of Erin's Simple Truths clasp.  Mom and I wanted to keep this piece simple so we could showcase Erin's gorgeous clasp.  The only thing we added was a ribbon from Jamn Glass, of course, and accented with some of our beads.

Mom wanted me to share the bead photographs because she loves these beads (I don't make them very often).  I use a base of white, copper foil, and then raku frit on top.  Not all the beads turn out looking good but these turned out awesome and were perfect to accent the clasp.

Close up of Erin's gorgeous Simple Truth clasp.

Mom and I had a wonderful time creating our pieces from the goodies that Erin sent.  We hope you enjoyed looking at the pieces we created and take the time to head over to Erin's blog to check out what she created from the goodies we sent her.

These are the goodies we sent to Erin - ribbon from Jamn Glass, beads made by us, a dancer pendant, a sterling silver clasp, rose pendants and a humming bird pendant.

Thanks for sticking it out with us.  And thank you again Lori for the amazing work you did to put this all together.

Oh, mom and I plan on having a giveaway in a few weeks (after our two shows this weekend and next weekend).  So stay tuned for that.

I am also closing the Etsy shop tomorrow morning, early, because of the shows.  If there is something in the store you have been stalking you better get it now because you never know what will sell at shows.

Here is the list of the linked partner list (If the links don't work - Please visit http://lorianderson.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7d27f8dfca54ef70719fc9ded&id=2b0a2cce00&e=5efb05108c for the full list of participants.)

  24. I am SO sorry for being late — today our internet provider decided to crash. My stress level is through the roof, to say the least! They’re still working on it, but it’s like dial-up.

I LOVE the owl pendant. You really rocked it with those gemstones. It reminds me of a book series I'm reading and it just really resonated with me. The bracelet is beautiful as well.

You were so generous to Erin -- you have such a good soul!

    I hope you participate again!

    Love, Lori

  46. First of all, your "ingredients" totally rock! :) I love how you incorporated the silk ribbon - still working on that. Your use of color, perfect. I am loving that last necklace/bracelet with Erin's clasp!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Night Flight is an exquisite combination of textures, colors, and materials, while Aztec is a cheerful balance of colors and shapes. The last piece - keeping it simple with just your gorgeous beads and the Jamn ribbon showcases Erin's fabulous clasp perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  48. You have a fantastic understanding of matching color, shape, and visual texture to enhance your focals. And the cookie sheets for designing...fabulous idea. You could even add sheets of vellux to the bottom to prevent rollage (find it in blanket size and cut it to the size of the pan.) Great work!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Great job Ladies!! You made your bead soup shine!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I really like the owl you guys made to go with Erin's soup. I am not sure I would have had the guts to mix smoky black and brown but it turned out awesome. The clasp from Erin is so pretty too.
You two are amazing artists and thanks for showing us how you start on cookie sheets- that sure keeps the beads from running away. I use small dishes but I may need to give the cookie sheets a try for the bigger pieces. This is the best part of the party I think to share ideas!

  52. Greetings Miss Evie and Miss Beth! I am so sorry to be so late to the party. I have never been that completely unplugged before, but the weekend in Michigan couldn't have been more perfect! I wish that I could have come over to be the first to say WOW but all these other nice people beat me to it!

I love, LOVE what you did with the soup ingredients I sent. You were certainly busy buzzy bees with this! I am amazed at all the varied looks that you acheived from that soup. That owl is fantastic. And I love the way you used the goldstone to bring out the shapes in that Pam Wynn bead. And I am so thrilled that you like the humble little simple truths clasp I made for you. You did my little creation proud!

You are both so delightful to work with and I had a blast!

    Enjoy the day!
    Erin
