Saturday Studio Work

Today was another go at the enameling of pendants - and I had my fingers crossed the whole time I was enameling that nothing would go wrong.

While I was enameling mom was working on drawing a pendant for the November ABS challenge piece.

We aren't going to have a chance to saw it out and enamel it this weekend or next weekend.  I did tell mom though she had to saw it out before her foot surgery :)  Yes, I use my mom for her sawing skills - I admit it!!!!

Pendants set up and ready to go into the kiln.

This is the heater set up mom and I have.  When I take the pendants out of the kiln I set them next to the heaters to help keep them from cracking.  Now that it is colder out, and we have the garage door open or the exhaust fan going, we have to keep the pendants from cracking from the cold.

All the pendants that I enameled today and didn't crack.

Was the October ABS Challenge piece - we didn't complete it due to
enameling issues

This is another clasp mom and I made.  Yes we do plan on making more clasps in the future but due to the show next weekend (three day show) and mom's upcoming surgeries the clasps are on the to do list.

Tomorrow will be another enameling session - a leaf bowl, sugar skull plate and a mask plate.  I will have pictures of those pieces once I am done.
