A Fall Song - I Heart Macro

A Fall Song - by Ellen Robena Field
Golden and red trees
Nod to the soft breeze,
As it whispers, "Winter is near;"
And the brown nuts fall
At the wind's loud call,
For this is the Fall of the year.
Good-by, sweet flowers!
Through bright Summer hours
You have filled our hearts with cheer
We shall miss you so,
And yet you must go,
For this is the Fall of the year.
Now the days grow cold,
As the year grows old,
And the meadows are brown and sere;
Brave robin redbreast
Has gone from his nest,
For this is the Fall of the year.
I do softly pray
At the close of day,
That the little children, so dear,
May as purely grow
As the fleecy snow
That follows the Fall of the year.

It is fall weather here now  and the leaves have fallen to the ground and the flowers are dying.  These are just some of the macro shots I got from my walk to the hort park.  I have my fingers crossed that this week will stay sunny so I can walk at lunch and take more shots before everything is gone for the winter.

I am linking up to I Heart Macro on Studio Waterstone.

Have a great Sunday everyone and enjoy the weather while you have it!

  1. Hi Beth,
I love fall! All the beautiful reds, yellows, and oranges combined with brown around the edges, the sweet smell of decay and the cool crisp mornings and evenings telling us that Mother Nature is putting her Baby to bed.
    Beautiful shots Beth.

  2. Beautiful photos! I will miss the flowers, but winter with all the snow and the ice can be very beautiful too.

  3. I'm a summer person, but fall offers so much beautiful colors and textures - like your pictures show in the best possible way.
